About

Founded in 1973 as the Gene Grawe Insurance Agency by the late Gene Grawe, the agency became the home office of Payson Farmers Mutual Insurance Company.  At that time, Gene took on the position of Secretary for the mutual.  In 2000, Gene retired, resigned as Secretary, and sold the agency to his son, Joe.  The Payson Farmers Mutual’s Board of Directors elected Joe Grawe as Secretary, and he served the company in that position until 2013, when his wife, Gail became Secretary. The office was then later moved to Payson, IL.

Hometown Values

The agency was founded on Gene’s hometown values, and we still value those traditions today.  Balancing a friendly, personal relationship with our customers and emerging technology is what we strive for.  Because of this, we still insure many of the same houses and farms that Gene originally insured at the foundation of the agency.
